Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop, Butchery and Cafe are excited to announce that they have been awarded the Maize Maze Associations Maize Maze of the Year Award! Coming in first next to some fantastic attractions such as York Maze.

The Maize Maze Association (MMA) is the official body representing maize mazes in the UK and Ireland. It was established in 2009 to help maize maze operators grow better mazes and improve the maize maze experience for all visitors.

The Maize Maze is part of Uncle Henry’s Behind the Garden Wall visitor attraction which offers seasonal trails and outdoor family fun from February – October. The year starts with a Woodland Winter Quest in February half term, then changes to an Easter trail for the school Easter holidays. In May, the Fairy Trail reopens and the Maize Maze is open from July 20th – September 29th and then again for Halloween 5th – 31st October. The walled garden features crazy golf, a jumping pillow, garden safari and garden games which visitors can enjoy with an ice cream or coffee from the adjoining refreshments shop.

Planning is well underway for the 2024 season. In celebration of winning Maize Maze of the Year, Uncle Henry’s are releasing 250 early bird tickets, with 20% off the standard price of admission.

Emma Blandford, Owner at Uncle Henry’s said “We are delighted with our win, regaining our title which we previously won in 2019! Last year, our Maize Maze design was Sunflowers to celebrate the introduction of our new Sunflower Trail here on the farm. Visitors to the Maize Maze had to find 10 points and along the way, they learnt all about bees and their important role in nature! There was lots of information to discover including how we encourage bees and other insects on our farm. We have a very exciting design for this year and look forward to sharing it with you soon!”
