Purpose
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Home Office Explanatory Memorandum No 1833 (2015). It sets out the steps taken by Warden Farming Ltd (Uncle Henry’s) “Uncle Henry’s”, to ensure that modern slavery neither occurs nor is tolerated within our business, supply chain or relevant third parties. Uncle Henry’s is committed to acting ethically and with transparency in all its business relationships and has a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of modern slavery.
Due consideration is given to all aspects of slavery and human trafficking, including servitude, forced labour and compulsory labour.

Uncle Henry’s
Uncle Henry’s is a family-owned visitor attraction operating since 2006. It is owned by the Directors of Warden Farming Limited established in 1965, an ethically run arable farming business. Uncle Henry’s attracts visitors of all ages to its Cafe, Butchery, Shop, Outdoor Attractions and Conference Facilities. It works to regulated standards and is regularly audited by external stakeholders.
It further operates its business following the principles of five defined values Customer Focus, Delivering Results Effectively, Making a Difference, Respect, and Development.

Policies
Recruitment: Uncle Henry’s operates a robust recruitment policy with new recruits chosen on merit for the role. New recruits are required to provide proof of eligibility to work within the UK, in accordance with UK Law. Every recruit follows a planned induction programme into the business.
Hours of work, overtime and pay: The standard working week for Uncle Henry’s employees is 40 hours or pro-rata. Overtime is on an agreed basis. All employees have access to a rota and messaging system. Uncle Henry’s adheres to all UK employment law and pay all staff at or above National Minimum/ Living Wage. Wages are paid every four weeks on the fourth Thursday of the pay cycle.
Holidays: Employees are entitled to 29 days holiday (including statutory holidays) increasing with length of service up to 34 days.
Pension Scheme: Uncle Henry’s employees are auto enrolled in a pension scheme with contributions set to meet or exceed the requirements set out in UK law.
Company policies: The company operates aligned policies designed to ensure that Uncle Henry’s remains committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct. These include Bullying and Harassment Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy, Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblowing) Policy.
Confidential Email: All staff have access to a confidential email which is monitored by two designated speak out champions.

Training
A full training programme is provided for all employees including discussion on our policies and values

Third Party Contractors
All third-party contractors used by Uncle Henry’s have checks carried out and a register kept ensuring they operate ethically and in accordance with employment legislation.
